Az. Agr. Mannucci Droandi Chianti Colli Aretini
Much deeper and richer than all of Chianti’s we’ve tasted in this price bracket. The Sangiovese gives it some serious cherry flavours and the use of old oak smooths out the tannins, letting the quality of the grapes really shine. The wine spends 12 months in these large older barrels before being bottled, ageing in the cellars for another 12 months before being released to the market. Full and rich – and the best in terms of value for money from Italy’s famous Tuscany region. Brilliant drunk on release it will also age gracefully for another 7 or 8 years.
Food Pairings – Tuscan Lamb, tomato-based pasta or the classic pizza! Basically, anything Italian…
