Barovo, Single Vineyard, Tikveš

£20.99

This is full bodied, rich, smooth and deeply satisfying! We hadn’t tasted much wine from the Republic of North Macedonia before but once we had we knew you guys had to try it too. A blend of two local varieties called Kratoshija and Vranec. Kratoshija is closely related to the Italian Primitivo, Australian Durif and American Zinfandel. 80% of the wine is aged in new French oak for 18 months which really smooths out the tannins and adds some hints of vanilla and toast! The wine is then aged for a further 6 months in bottle before being released. It has great blackberry, plum and cherry notes with some vanilla and toast from the new oak. This wine will age beautifully for 5-10 years.

Food Pairing- roasted or grilled red meats followed by a cheese board.
