Domaine du Murinais Crozes-Hermitage, Vieilles Vignes

£19.99

The Tardy family have been growing grapes in the Rhone Valley for over 150 years and selling them to the local co-operative. Then in 1998 Luc Tardy decided he wanted to make his own wine, so he opened Domaine du Murinais! Crozes-Hermitage is located in the Northern Rhone, wrapped around Hermitage AOC and just over the river from Saint-Joseph. The Crozes-Hermitage at Domaine du Murinais is 100% Syrah and Luc’s Crozes are very clean with very little new oak, black cherries and a touch of spice on the palate, and the oak adds decent weight to the wine without overpowering the fruit. Food Pairing – there is a saying when it comes to wine pairings and ‘What grows together, goes together’ really is true! So local cuisine such as duck breast, pheasant, cassoulet and rabbit. It pairs wonderfully with many French cheeses from the area such as Rigotte de Condrieu, a goats cheese with a subtle and fragrant taste, a local specialty of the northern Rhone Valley.
