Edoardo Miroglio, Soli, Pinot Noir

£12.99

We recently were asked to taste this wine blind as part of an initiation for one of our suppliers. Apparently, everyone they work with has to do it! In the past people have said ‘Oh, definitely Burgundy’ and ‘New Zealand, Central Otago’ suffice to say we’d never have guessed that this 100% Pinot Noir would be from Bulgaria.

There is some serious fruit concentration here, bright red cherry and raspberry fruit gives way to a touch of something more savoury followed by a smooth smoky, chocolatey, lightly oaked finish. One of the best value wines out there at the moment and is equally tasty slightly chilled.

Food Pairing – as its slightly heavier than Burgundian Pinot Noir we’d recommend meats such as rabbit, roast pork and liver or when chilled it’s great for charcuterie
