This 100% Chardonnay, from the 2015 vintage, is from Trentino in northern Italy. Made using the ‘Metodo Classico’ (the champagne method) this sparkling is right up there with some of the best French stuff around.

Founded in 1902 by Giulio Ferrari, a Trentino native, who studied winemaking in France and was convinced that his homeland would be ideal for chardonnay production and how right he was! This premium fizz has a deep golden colour and on the nose the first thing that hits you are the toasty notes, followed by lemon peel, baked apples, almonds and some pleasant spice.

On the palate you get much of the same with added yoghurt and buttered toast, as a result of the longer ageing on the lees. This is a very rich, full bodied and complex sparkling wine from one of the oldest producers in Italy.

Food Pairing – treat as you would a fine vintage champagne. Best served on its own or with an antipasti selection.
