Keermont Estate Reserve Red Blend
This is a pretty classic Bordeaux blend on the nose with notes of red fruit (strawberry and red cherry), herbs, violets and dark chocolate. The vineyards are quite cool, so the grapes don’t get too much sun, this basically means the grapes are able to ripen slowly. This translates into a deep complex flavour in the final wine, with some more savoury flavours than you’d get in hotter climates. This wine has seen 22 months of oak so its super smooth and has touches of vanilla and toast to complement its long tasty finish.
Food Pairing – works incredibly well with red meat, oven roasted or pan seared red meant in particular, leave the barbecued meats to the Malbec. It is also brilliant with anything with a touch of bitterness like radicchio or mushroom if you want to go for something veggie or vegan.
