We have been a huge fan of Mulderbosch since we launched My Wine Cellar and this love has culminated in us becoming the exclusive UK retailer for their stunning Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé. From the Coastal Region of South Africa, the Cabernet Sauvignon is grown specifically for rosé production. It’s picked a little earlier than usual, so the grapes retain their acidity which gives a very fresh, crisp wine. As has become the Mulderbosch House style, their 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé is delicately coloured, with subtle hues of pink and a touch of copper. On the nose we have notes of fresh strawberries and something herbal as you’d expect from Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a classic dry, fruity rosé which follows through with strawberries, raspberries, and confected red cherries.

Food Pairing – This is a serious rosé so demands a serious pairing. Lobster, scallops or even rare summer lamb. Rosé is also a great pairing for salads with a vinaigrette, which is notoriously difficult to find a wine for.
