Back in 1989 Larry Jacobs purchased a parcel of land that was nicknamed by the locals “vuilplasie” which translates from the Afrikaans to “dirty little farm” so he had a lot of work to do! He hired Mike Dobrovic known as ‘Mr Sauvignon Blanc’ and together they cleaned up the farm and turned it into a world-class winery with a reputation for premium, distinctive wines that represent the Cape perfectly. Known for their innovation, they were the first winery to produce a barrel-fermented Chenin Blanc (the Steen Op Hout) and were trailblazers in the rosé category too! Both the Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Rosé are in this case, we had to have the Rosé sand Sparkling Rosé specially imported so is exclusive to myWINEcellar. We also have their Sauvignon Blanc which is perfectly balanced with gorgeous citrus, herb, honeysuckle and melon notes and their first wine to be made back in 1992. To finish the case, we have probably the most undervalued chardonnay in the world. It is fresh and fruity with a little bit of buttery toast on the nose, followed by some more tropical fruit like pineapple and papaya. The light use of oak gives some more body and adds a creamy weight to go with the long zesty finish.

Producers don’t always release new pictures with every vintage so we can’t always display the correct bottle, it’s annoying but that’s why we display the correct vintage info below.
