Oakridge Wines, Over The Shoulder Chardonnay
This 100% chardonnay was handpicked from vineyards all over the Yara Valley, designed to showcase the amazing wine that they can produce. There is a very gentle use of oak here, about half of the juice goes into large 500L French oak puncheons and left to mature for ten months. This adds body and a touch of that famous toasty butter that Aussie chardonnay is famous for. The initial notes on the nose are nectarine and lemon followed on the palate by something butterier. Food Pairing – fish pie, fish cakes or simply prepared salmon. Great with a chicken Caesar salad too.
