Olivier Ravier, Brouilly
Those that have tried the Ravier Beaujolais-Village know that he makes quality wine and this Brouilly is a real step up in quality! Made from 100% Gamay, it makes very similar wines to Pinot Noir. Because Brouilly is the most southerly of the Beaujolais regions the wines it produces are riper and the fruit more concentrated. In this wine we have some vey tasty black cherry, blackberry and a hint of spice. There is no oak on this wine to retain the fruitiness and this also results in smooth tannins and a tasty silky finish.
Food Pairing – great if you want a red with your roast chicken but also goes exceptionally well with local Burgundian dishes like beef bourguignon. Our go-to wine for charcuterie as well. If you want to go left field this wine is perfect for Chinese food and sushi too, if you want red!
